Feeling festive? So are we! There’s been a holiday-fueled uptick in gatherings – large and small – at the bar, in the dining room, outside by the warm glow of the heat lamps. Two holiday parties and an anniversary celebration upstairs. Also seeing a lot of communal high-top takeovers for ad hoc cocktail gatherings and merrymaking of all shapes and sizes. When you’re having fun, so are we!
Our community has always championed our local businesses, and the fact that so many of us are continuing to thrive is evidence that it’s not only a feel-good, nice-to-do, it makes a big difference. Thank you.
In that spirit, we’re shining a light today on a local business that’s a bit off the beaten path, and worth seeking out – Valley Vintage. If you’re a treasure hunter, a deal-seeker, or one of those folks with a knack for unique and thoughtful gift-giving, you will appreciate the wide, deep and diverse selection at Valley Vintage.
Thrifting is having a moment, a more eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to big box shopping that also scratches the cultural itch for nostalgia, uniqueness and the spirit of people and places past. From housewares, like vintage Pyrex baking dishes in fabulous 70s hues, to midcentury décor and lighting, cool costume jewelry and an incredible selection of vinyl records – blues, jazz and rock & roll – Valley Vintage has it all. Owner Elyse Alfandre opened the co-op six years ago, renting out stalls to 25 of her closest friends and dealers. The range of offerings reflect the eclectic mix of ages, styles and personalities they represent. Stop by the store and take a peek – it’s a fun shopping experience, and new products arrive every day. Valley Vintage is at 168 South Valley Road, technically in West Orange, but right on the South Orange border.
